We might be in the depths of a grim, rainy winter, but there is plenty of adventure racing excitement to look forward to. Why not enter a few races to boost your motivation (and perhaps give you a reason to 'invest' in some lovely new kit)?

Haglöfs Open5 series
The next Haglöfs Open5 takes place on February 2nd on the North Downs from its HQ at Cranleigh - expect some stunning scenery and a LOT of hills, despite being 'down south'.
On March 2nd the Haglöfs Open5 returns to Cannock Chase.

Silva10 10k night trail race
The night before the next 3 Open5s (North Downs, Cannock and Coniston), from the same venue, we are running the SILVA10 Trail Series. Why not double up your weekend's racing, or perhaps encourage friends and family to take part while you polish your cranks ready for the Sunday's adventure race? The 10k races are fully waymarked, electronically timed and only cost a tenner... so why not? |

Remember that to take part in the Haglöfs Open5 series you need to race in at least three events (your top three scores will count). But even if podiums aren't your thing, we run a draw at every Haglöfs Open5 so that one lucky competitor will walk away with a Haglöfs Goretex Jacket. You've got to be in it to win it!

Lakes 2 Day...
Give yourself something to aim for this summer by entering a team (or solo) into the Lakes 2 day stage race based at Eskdale on 17th and 18th May. The event comprises 5 stages of mountain biking, running and kayaking and with gaps in between for cake, tea and banter, it's a great social weekend as well as one of hard racing. |

ITERA...
If you're still pondering about entering the ITERA Expedition Race, just be aware that prices go up on 1st April (seriously). The five day expedition-style race in Wales has already attracted international entries and considerable media interest, so make sure you're part of it! |

Finally, if running a long way is your thing, you can look forward to the Lakes in a Day Ultra Run on 11th October; a run of 47ish miles and around 4000m of ascent. Look out for more information in the next newsletter. |

UKAR social weekend, 14th - 16th Feb
