Bit of a heads up and a date for the diary Sunday 26th May - we are working with the Underground Overground Festival www.ogug.co.uk in Ingleton to put on the Overground Trail Race, it's about 12 miles so worth getting out of bed for. Mick Kenyon is the master behind this one.. more details in February's newsletter.

Skill Up
Open Adventure is stepping in to the realm of training. Linking these up to the Haglöfs Open5 events, these are one day skill based courses on the day before the event. The idea is not to bust you but to give you some structured training to help you enjoy these events all the more. More details on each of the event pages - price is £45 and includes lunch.
-
Saturday 2nd March (Yorkshire Dales) - Navigation.. We will take you through what top competitors think when they look at the map before and during the event.
-
Saturday 6th April (Lake District) - Mountain Biking.. What you need to know before you get on the bike, how to use it and what to do when it breaks down.
-
Saturday 4th May (Shropshire Hills) - Trail Running, Kit and Nutrition.. Anyone can run.. but how do they run up (or down) that? And get to grips with what you should be carrying - from cold & wet to proper sunny days.
If these dates don't work for you or perhaps you are looking for more in-depth coaching with navigation - give Joe Faulkner / Nav4 a look as these guys know their onions. Also if you are based further south you may find Tri-adventure's academy of interest; check out their website for more details.

Finally
A personal plea - please take time to check out the Howfast website, my personal challenge as I take on diabetes and look to raise money for research into diabetes. Worth getting a brew and take time to read the blog.
See you at the next event
James.
