November Open Adventure Newsletter

Welcome to the November edition of the Open Adventure newsletter. Plenty going on in the world of Adventure Sports - so if you are cuddling your laptop on a sofa sign up to an event to be in the picture.

Haglöfs Open5 Series

The series kicked off in style with our first Haglöfs Open5 in Scotland. The Pentlands provided the ideal backdrop for what turned out to be a spectacular day. Castleberg Outdoors were on hand with proper discounts on Haglöfs kit and we even had Mr Mark Beaumont adventurer extrodinaire racing with Bruce Duncan of Haglöfs. 3rd place even.

Race analysis / results all here.

Expect the series to hot up as the competition gets intense. Next event is way down south on the South Downs - we are all expecting to get a tan. Alex Davies is at the helm to showcase this area.

Kendal Mountain Festival

This weekend is the Kendal Mountain Festival, the place to be in the UK if you have an Outdoor gene in your body (that is unless you are at the Tri-Adventure event, in which case you can be forgiven). We are putting on a 5 mile Trail Run with adidas - should be a bit of a hoot. Brownlee brothers will be there to start everyone off on this little tour of the trails. More details here

Don't fancy 5 miles? Well if you up for a morning out... we could do with a hand on the trail run please pop lisa(at)openadventure.com an email. Lunch and a free film pass for Sunday.

We will be at the adidas Endurance Session - yours truly is hosting an evening with a few Open Adventure regulars Nick Gracie, Tom Gibbs and Ant Emmet - along with the Brownlee brothers. Plenty of quality film to colour the proceedings - sadly tickets are sold out. But there are plenty of other great events on. Check out Kendal Mountain Festival

Adventure Racing Ball

One for your diary is the Adventure Racing Ball next 22-24 Feb back in the Lakes. A great playground for racers who have far too much energy. For the moment pen the date in your diary and booking and more details will follow soon.

How Fast?

Howfast? So just how fast do you think I can get from one side of the country to the other? Well whoever gets the closest answer will win at least £1000 worth of Outdoor Kit. It's not an event - I'm raising money for research in to Type 1 diabetes something that sadly I have. Check out the website www.howfast.org
