A busy month at Open Adventure with much to shout about. If you are vaguely interested in adventure sport read on.

New Haglöfs Adventure Race Series

The news it out of the bag Haglöfs are to sponsor next years Open5 series, with 7 events rather than the usual 5. We are also heading further south than we have ever been before as we look to expand the series. Check out the website and start putting them in the diary.

• Lake District :: 2nd October
• Shropshire Hills :: 6th November
• South Pennines :: 4th December
• Quantocks :: 8th January
• North Pennines :: 5th February
• North Downs :: 4th March
• Peak District :: 1st April

planetFear Open12 experience the North York Moors

If you have taken on an Open5 why not try a couple back to back with a rest in the middle. This is the Open12 on 25/26th June - but don't expect the usual Open5 rules to apply, we chuck them out of the window here and apply an extra helping of our special stages.

Wayne Elliott is the man behind this event and we can let you know now - registration is in Pickering (not that gives away much J). Entries are stil open here. Closing date 19th June

planetFear Open5+ see the other side of Anglesey

Ah now if you were busy over last weekend and not in Anglesey you missed a real treat. Few people thought that we could pack so much in to 5 hours especially on Holyhead - this coupled with some pretty amazing weather left us with an event not to forget. Dave Macfarlane was in attendance with a video camera check out the video short here.

Ocean Kayak Race

Our water safety guy James Stevenson's home patch is Anglesey with us down that neck of the woods we helped him put on the inaugural Ocean Kayak Race - with 5 routes up our sleeve pending the weather we had all the bases covered. It was a special day out as Adventure Racers met Racing Kayakers - there is a short video of the event here. Looks like we will back next year.

Windermere Canoe and Kayak Solstice Event

The Open5+ was made extra special by the boats from Windermere Canoe and Kayak - they have their take on racing on Lake Windermere June 12th check it out on their website here. They are also reguarly running 2 star courses.

BCU 3 star courses

Both WCK and Adventure Elements have 3 star courses running for those looking to take their paddling up a level.

Adventure Elements 13th June 3 star training and 15th June assessment.

Windermere Canoe and Kayak 18/19th June assessment and training - call Gill on 015394 44451 to book.

CycleFit

Lastly if you need another date for the calendar Open Adventure are the people behind the CycleFit road sportive in the Chilterns on the 19th June.
