News on the Open5 Series and we reveal a few secrets of the Endurance Series - plenty to keep your eyes open for.

Five hours not to forget

Heavy rain and gales was not enough to put off the 250 people that showed up for the third race in the Mountain Hardwear Open5 series at Kirkby Stephen.

It was an outstanding effort by everyone who took part. Chris Hope, of the winning male pair's team commented "Staying vaguely warm was key to just completing the 5 hour event!"

The next event is at Bakewell in the Peak District on Sunday March 6th where Ian Hughes has pre-ordered the sunshine.

Grizedale in the Lake District is the venue for the last event of the Open5 series - Anthony Cooper has already been out spending many hours cooking up surprises for this finale. If that is not enough why not pull a few mates together and check out Trailplus's event on the Saturday www.trailplus.com

Double Trouble in North Wales 21/22 May

Make a weekend of it in North Wales at the Open 5+ (part of the planetFear Endurance Series) and the Ocean Kayak Race. At last year's Open 5+ event the "yoda" of Adventure Racing Mr Phil Humphreys was quoted as saying it was the best event he had ever done (That was, of course, before our Open12, Open24 and adidas TERREX events).

The Ocean Kayak Race is the vision of our Kayak Safety guy James Stevenson - keen to see an event of this ilk in his backyard we are delighted to work with James to help make this event happen. www.oceankayakrace.com

Wayne Elliot is cooking up something special for the Open 12 in the North York Moors. Whilst this is a 12 hour event we intend to incorporate a 6 hour timeout section - so for those looking to make the step up from the Open5's look no further than this event.
