April Newsletter
Another month ticks by and Open Adventure have been busy. Lisa, Cheryl and I have been at the London Marathon Show at Excel in London promoting the adidas TERREX Coast to Coast amongst other Open Adventure events. Dave has been in the North East and South of the country visiting the North Downs and South West looking for Open5 venues. Open Cycling is picking up speed and the rumours are true I have gone to the dark side and have been seen on a road bike here in the Lakes....

planetFear Endurance Series - Buddy up!
Back for 2011 it's the planetFear Endurance Series ready to test competitors to the max. The series is open to male / female and mixed pairs and is an achievable challenge for novices to elite racers. To be ranked in the series you need to compete in all three events. It is sure to be an unforgettable adventure in three stunning parts of the country. It involves running, mountain biking and a few surprises. Click here for more information about the event.

Get your Gear, at planetFear
If you have not visited the planetFear website already it is definitely worth a look. planetFear not only sell great gear for adventure racing but they also keep you up to date on what's what in the outdoor world. They have just opened their 2nd store in Betws Y Coed, complimenting the success of the first store in Keswick. If you are that way take a look.

Where in Wales? planetFear Open5+ 21st May 2011
We have never been the best at keeping secrets and if you had not already worked it out the Open5+ in North Wales will be starting at Anglesey Outdoors. So being so close to the coast you can be sure at some point to be getting wet. If you are looking for a good spot to camp then give them a shout they may also have some indoor accomdation available..

Don't miss the Boat...
The Ocean Kayak Race is in Anglesey the same weekend as the Open5+ (21st May 2011). This is organised by James Stevenson of Adventure Elements and competitors will paddle a distance of 20km or 30km. You can use double / single sea kayaks or ocean surf skis. Check the website out for more details.

Survival of the Fittest
Congratulations to Ant and Bruce on the completion of their Epic Tri - The Bob Graham, followed by John O'Groats to Land End on a tandem, then the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race. A total of 1064 miles over 6 days - very impressive. There is still time to donate and help raise money for Cancer Research UK - Click here.
