2007 Mountain Hardwear Open5 series
It was a pretty spectacular day out, whilst the blue sky was hidden - the rain kept awayand many of the muddy trails were now fast singletrack. The overwhelming feedback was of surprise at the spectacular scenery, our thanks go in particular to the North York Moors National Park for helping us set up the event.
James Kirby was in attendance snapping away, you can find his photos of the event on Sleepmonsters ready for you to download and show your friends just what lunacy you get up to at the weekends.
Anna Gracie was also in attendance juggling new born George with writing the latest going's on at Sutton Bank. Again you can find her scribes online at Sleepymonsters here.
It's 6 weeks till the next Open5 of the year at Keswick, it's promising to be a big one - with considerably more people having entered this event than ever before. With so much going on in the area, might be worth booking your accommodation sooner rather than later otherwise you may be relegated to cheeky lay-by's on the A66. Check out our event page here for links to the local tourist information and youth hostels for further advice.
Plenty of people have been trying to glean snippets of information on where the running and mountain biking will be. Well, have we let you down so far? Don't worry it will be a great event with some cracking views and interesting control locations - if we get carried away you must tell us.

Series Table
The Open5 series table is starting to come alive with some jostling already in the mixed pairs only seperated by 1 pt at the top. Remember you don't have to do anything (other than spell your name right!) to enter the series just turn up to three events in the series and Alan Hartley's software does the rest for us. You can check out the latest series placing on the results page here.
Keswick - 13th May :: Grassington - 30th September :: Coniston - 25th November
2007 Endurance series
We won't witter on about this because most of you know about the endurance series and with the number of entries coming in the message is getting through. Remember though if you want to blag a series entry discount of 10% you need to enter before the next Open5 at Keswick. You can find the entry form online here.
Month of Adventure
Cumbria is the place to be in May with the "Month of Adventure", with the Open5 in Keswick rubbing shoulders with the Bike Fest, the Fred Whitton challenge, the Ullswater Walking Festival and on the following weekend the Windermere Marathon. If Open Adventure doesn't satisfy your thirst or your entourage on tow to events wants something else to do; check out the Cumbria Tourism's website here. It will direct you to accommodation and as well as details on transport in the region.
Time to go and put that kettle on, have a great day and enjoy the racing.
As ever no
worries
James
