Event Updates
UKAR Championship Qualifying Event

[30/3] The start list and race numbers have been published. You need to bring this number along to registration where we will issue your race pack. If you have your own SI Card you must also bring this to registration. Don't worry if you forget your SI Card, we will have spares for hire at £2.50. We can't give you your race pack without attaching a SI Card to your wrist first. Pairs need to sign-in and register together.

If you would still like to enter this event just pop along to registration as we will be taking entries on the day - £35 per person, cash only.

If you have a camp chair bring it along, fingers crossed won't be raining and we can do the prize giving outside... but then again this is the Haglof's Open5 series.

[26/03] Final updates...

The planning team were out in the event area this weekend putting the final touches to the event. It was a superb weekend and trails and paths were mostly in dry condition. If the weather stays like this then it's likely to be a very fast event. This area can be very busy with tourists so please take care when running and biking around. Be courteous to anyone you meet and they are likely to be the same back to you. A word of advice for anyone camping at Alstonefield on Saturday night. There are no shops in the village and only one pub. The pub gets booked up for food way in advance, so it's unlikely to have food available. We would recommend you either bring some of your own food or eat before you arrive. As per previous updates a catering van will be at the event early on Sunday morning, so no problem getting your butties then. Bring plenty of drinks with you for the event day as transition is right next to where your cars will be. We don't want anyone suffering from de-hydration on this one! Hang around afterwards for event and series prize-giving where you will be able to get an ice-cream or some hot food depending on your preference.

[21/03] Catering and camping...

Catering - Local mobile caterer John Dale will be bringing his unit along to the event to ensure racers don't go hungry on the day. There will be the usual offer of a hot butty and mug of tea in the morning followed by a nice hot meal and cake at the end of the event.

Camping - If you are travelling and thinking of camping on Saturday night then how about camping 5 minutes walk from the event centre! You won't find this camp site listed anywhere as they don't advertise. They don't take bookings either, but we are assured there is plenty of space available as they don't get many campers at this time of year. You will find Peter and Hilda Leeson's campsite at Overdale, Lode Lane, Alstonefield, DE6 2FZ. Facilities are basic, but the price is only £5 pppn.

[14/03] Alternate venue finalised...

The alternate venue for the final Haglofs Open5 event in the series can be confirmed as the picturesque village of Alstonefield. Registration will be at the village hall. Parking and transition with be on the recreation field, so no need to carry gear very far to transition. Please follow the directions of Haglofs Open5 event marshalls on arrival in the village. Residents are very sensitive to visitors parking outside houses, so please ensure you only park at the recreation field.

[25/02] Important update...

Due to unforeseen problems with the parking for this Haglofs Open5 we have no choice but to find an alternate venue. We are planning to use the same event area. We have two enquiries in progress. A further announcement will be made when arrangements have been finalised. Please accept our apologies for this last minute adjustment to our Haglofs Open5 programme.

Make a weekend of it..

The Peak District has lots of places to visit within easy reach of Dovedale. Try out a variety of watersports at Carsington Water or take a trip back in time at Arkwrights Mill at Cromford.
