Peak District - 06/12/09

Intro  ::  Details: Weather, etc  ::  Event Updates  ::  Make a weekend of it..

Well we are back to the Peak District and Hope College, don't worry if you were at the last event - still much to explore.

Ian Hughes is back with us planning this event, having got the Endurance Series and C2C out of his system. Expect some great riding and amazing views

Assuming the weather is good parking will be on the field behind the college. Poor weather and it will be on the hard standing / street parking. If this is the case please be curtious to local residents and keep your voices down.

Event Updates

[3/12 ] OK in some ways it's nice not to have to put so many updates up as with the last event - which means everything is going well.

Couple of things of note, no caterer I'm afraid - however we will have the urns boiling so you will be able to help yourself to a brew before and after the event. Just a £1 donation per brew which we will forward on to the National Trust, whose land you may tread on during the day.

Having looked at the maps put together by Ian Hughes, its looking pretty good. However just one note there are a few tempting shortcuts - footpaths whilst on bike and fields whilst on foot. Don't do it, there are a few agitated landowners around and lets face it you wouldn't appriciate it if someone jumped your garden fence.

For parking, as its wet I think it unlikely we will be able to park on the school field and we will soon fill up the hard standing. Hence many of you will have to park along the road. Please be sensible and not block people's driveways. If a resident asks you to move please just do it even if you have a right to park.

Oops little mis-calculation on our part, just realised we don't quite have enough safety pins for RUN numbers. If you have any from previous events - pop them in your pocket and pass any spares back at registration, cheers.

Remember not only will we have some great prizes from Mountain Hardwear and our other sponsors but we will also be running another draw for a Suunto watch. You have to start and you have to be at the prize giving, no imposters, stand-ins, relatives, look alikes - has to be you.

Well look forward to seeing you Sunday, have a safe trip to the Peaks.

Make a weekend of it..
