Open5 Series 2007

Hebden Bridge, South Pennines - 21st January, 2007

Hebden Bridge LocksHebden Bridge - Open Adventure is back, the ridiculously steep sided valleys with dwellings perched impossibly, is the scene for the first Mountain Hardwear Open5 event of 2007. The scenery provides the ideal amphitheater for running and mountain biking, with plenty of bridleways and paths the navigation will keep your brains twitching for the full five hours.

Jonathan Emberton and Phil Scarf - the local lads, who have been stomping over the podiums at adventure races in the UK over the past 2 years are the planners for this great day out. Be warned they have been saving this event up for a few years and will no doubt unleash a plethora of surprises.

Sutton Bank, North York Moors - 11th March, 2007

Sutton BankSutton Bank - the first event for Open Adventure in North York Moors and probably the first adventure race to be run in the region. This corner of the country has some real gems and we are having some great fun checking it out.

Keswick, North Lakes - 13th May, 2007

Keswick - another first for Open Adventure the North Lakes. As ever the lakes promises some pretty special running and MTBing, expect some awe inspiring views and a few surprises.

Grassington, Yorkshire Dales - 30th September, 2007

The fourth event of the Mountain Hardwear Open5 series is at Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales. Open24 competitors from last year might recall Grassington as the market town they sped past on the way to the big abseil at Kilnsey Crag. As ever the Yorkshire Dales puts on a pretty special event for those who can find their way out of bed on this September morning.

Coniston, South Lakes - 25th November, 2007

Looking back towards the Old Man from Brantwood JettyConiston - the final event of the Mountain Hardwear Open5 series and what a great venue. This part of the lakes provides arguably the best mountain biking in the country, so to be sitting in the shadow of the coniston fells this has to be one of the best locations for an Open5 event.

John Ruskin school is the location of this event - parking is on the playground and the well drained field. You can click here for a map of the local area.

To find out more about the area and the possibilities its worth checking out www.lakedistrictoutdoors.co.uk Enjoy.
