Coniston, South Lakes

25th November, 2007

Coniston - the final event of the Mountain Hardwear Open5 series and what a great venue. This part of the lakes provides arguably the best mountain biking in the country, so to be sitting in the shadow of the coniston fells this has to be one of the best locations for an Open5 event.

John Ruskin school is the location of this event - parking is on the playground and the well drained field. You can click here for a map of the local area. Start / transition will be in the school grounds so no need to worry about lugging kit on your bike.

To find out more about the area and the possibilities its worth checking out www.lakedistrictoutdoors.co.uk Enjoy.

[19/11 update]

OK - We have posted the latest entry list after much enquiry as to who has or has not entered. Numbers are the highest we have had for an event so far and the location promises to serve up a great event. Note that any entry changes made after Friday lunchtime will be subject to the extra entry on the day charge of £5.

In case there is any doubt - regardless of the weather - including a clear blue sky, we will be expecting competitors to all carry a waterproof jacket in addition to the other items specified on the kit list.

As mentioned in the latest newsletter Wilf's event cafe are coming along to this event, they will be on site ready to serve breakfast at 8.00am for those looking for that extra fuel for the day.

IMPORTANT It is absoulutely VITAL that if you have entered the Open5 series and you are hoping for a ranked place that you double check the spelling of your name (and that of your partner) on the entry list against that on the series table. Unless there is an excact match, Sunday's score will not be credited to your existing ranking. If you have any doubt please contact us.

Please check back later in the week for any further updates.
