Rydal Hall, Central Lakes - 4th December 2005

Open 5 - Rydal Hall, Central Lakes - 4th December 2005Registration for the last Open5 event of 2005 is at Rydal Hall, those who competed in the Open24 will know this place as the location for the canyonning. Rydal Hall is the Diocese of Carlisle retreat centre, it is also the start for the annual Fairfield Horseshoe fell race so sits in the shadow of some pretty impressive mountains. Click here for a map showing the location of Rydal Hall.

Blanchland, North Pennines - 16th October 2005

A village steeped in history with an Abbey dating back to the 1100's and village buildings which creak of the 1700's reputedly the perfect village all within the depths of the North Pennines. Argued as England's last great wilderness, the sense of isolation on the moors is immense with fast mountain biking on established shooting tracks and tricky running in the valleys. The term roof of england in very apt.
