Mountain Hardwear Open5 Series

2008/9 is the fifth series of Open5 Adventure Races. Mountain Biking, Running, Navigation and ADVENTURE!

2008/09 Mountain Hardwear Open5 events:

Series - For those looking to get a series placing, ranking will be based on the top 3 scores from any of the five events. You do not have to register for the series.


Process - Register at the event centre any time from 8.30 to 10.00 here you will collect a map preprinted with the location of the controls.

Start anytime from 9.30 to 10.30 electing to run or cycle first. At the start you will be given a list of control descriptions each assigned a value. After 5hrs penalties will be incurred.

Cost - The cost of the event is £23 per person, Entries on the day are accepted for an extra £7. Pre-entries will close at midnight on the Thursday before the event.

For those up for a bargain, if you enter 3 or more events you will only pay;

3 events - £21 per event
4 events - £20 per event
5 events - £19 per event

 

Concept - You will have 5 hours to visit as many points (controls) as you can. Some can only be collected by mountain bike others by foot.

Start times: 9.30am to 10.30am

Event Rules for the Open5 Events 

The event will use the SPORTident system of scoring. SI Cards are available to rent at £2.50 per person or can be purchased online from SPORTident.

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd at each event and at the final event for the series.

Also for this year Mountain Hardwear are offering £500 in kit to the highest scoring solo or pair over all five events.
