Open12 Adventure Race 25/26th June 2011
Looking for 12 hours of Adventure Racing, then be prepared for the Open12. The location is the North York Moors and promises to deliver some real surprises.

| Concept - 12 hours of adventure racing in a wonderful location. All competitors will have some element of the event in the dark. In the 12 hours of racing the idea is to visit as many points (controls) as you can. The event will be split up in to a number of stages where you will change over disciplines. For this event our plan is to have an overnight timeout of 6 hours. So to be clear your 12 event will have a pause button which can be used just the once and for up to 6 hours. The field will have toilet facilities and an appropiate area to pitch a tent. The event will also include special stages (or trouser fillers as we like to call them). |
Scoring - The event will use the SPORTident system of scoring. The cards used are the higher capacity SI-6 cards. SI Cards are available to rent at £2.50 per person or can be purchased online from SPORTident. 24th June - No further updates - see you all tomorrow expect something special..
23rd June - We plan to have a tea urn running at registration and at the overnight camp (as well as other places) to minimise the number of cups we use can you bring your own and pack one in your overnight bag.
Also can you check the entry list - we have kept it up to date with those who have sent in rope certs, if no tick you can still do the stage just priority will be given to those who have have a rope ticket. To identify who has a rope ticket we will be attaching another tyrek strip to your wrist at registration.
A few questions have come in and we have updated the FAQ page. Last update tomorrow by midday.
22nd June - Registration is in the Pickering Memorial Hall across the road from the car park. Parking is in a field 100m behind the Beck Isle Museum - view map. Access is on the west side of the museum only. Parking will be signed from the A170 - please do not park in the museum car park or block the entrance.
21st June - We have made a few small tweaks to the kit list page (added a small bag for your bike kit). We have also put some more details up on the timetable and what the prologue is about - see the details page. As usual at Open Adventure please expect things to be on time.
