The summer is just around the corner and we have some exciting events to help you enjoy the fresh air. But before we get to the Summer.. we have to finish the Haglöfs Open5 series - next weekend sees the final of an exciting 7 event series.

Haglöfs Open5 Adventure Race Series

The final event of the series takes us to the ever popular Peak District on 1st April, with Karen McDonald at the helm you can expect a top event. As it's the last event in the series we will be dishing out the trophies to those who have made it to the top of the table.

Hang around for the prize giving and you may also win a £230 Haglöfs Endo jacket - definitely would have been appreciated by some competitors on some of this years events.

We will be announcing locations and dates for the 12/13 series.. details in the next newsletter.

Open 2 Day... 28/29^th April

Legendary Racers Tom Gibbs and Paul Noble are pulling together a great event for the end of April. With classes open to solos, pairs and teams of 4 there are opportunities to make your mark this spring. It's a two day stage event with all bar one stage score orienteering style so if you are not up for going out to play for the full time you can head back for a brew.

On that note we have the legendary Wilf's catering attending.. bit of a coup. These guys set the standard for event catering - expect some great food to fuel you up for each stage.

Anquet

There is not a day at Open Adventure when we don't open up Anquet on our computers. It's really great to have these guys behind us in planning these events but to be honest even if they didn't help us out with this mapping we would still buy it anyway (and I've told them that - so don't worry).

They have just released a new version of the software which we helped beta test (currently beta testing the iPhone app) - it's a lot faster than the old stuff and for those going the whole hog you can now print at A3. For those on the old stuff they have some great upgrade offers running at the mo.. To find out more www.anquet.com.

Getting Wet

Few paddling events coming along soon. Ravenglass Seaquest on 6th May (email Annette Morris) / Ocean Kayak Race on 20th May in Anglesey with Adventure Elements and the Summer Solstice Race on 16th June with Windermere Canoe and Kayak.
