Hey a quick one.. with a few updates on the latest happenings here at Open Adventure and a big HELLO.. prices for the Endurance Series events go up on 1st March..

Mountain Hardwear Open5

Dave Hetherington a serial Open5 competitor and resident of Sedbergh, has been busy conjuring up all sorts of fun for those who want to explore this part of the country. The last event filled up 2 weeks before - we can take a few more competitors on this one but if you are wavering best get your entry in. Find out more about the Open5 Events

We think Emma might need another year before taking on the planning of another Open5 to recover from the experience of the Haworth event. A special day it was - certainly opened our eyes to what amazing countryside we have so close to built up areas. Results / race reports / race analysis all online.

James Kirby was also there and snapped a good number of photos.. all available free on SleepMonsters. If you use them in your blog let us know. You can find a gallery on our Facebook page here.

Yep you need to get your entries in by the end of the month if you remotely have a Yorkshire or Scottish gene in your body - prices will go up on 1st March. The Open5+ will be an exciting melee of adventure as we explore what the National Trust has hidden away near Coniston - expect a lung busting picnic of adventure on 15th May.

Goodness me, Dave Johnson is pulling out the stops for the Open12. We went for an explore last weekend and left thinking can we really get this much fun in to 12 hours. The difference with this little gem is that it will be a game of two halves - not sure of the exact split but something like 6 hours on the Saturday and 6 hours on the Sunday with a mystery overnight camp (near a fine pub). This should put this event well in to the realms of the Open5 competitor.

Little more to say about the Open24 as our planner has taken a few weeks out to explore Patagonia. As ever expect some photos to get you guessing - we are just waiting for the ice to melt..

If you are looking for website to be put together or in the need for some design help - James is a man we can recommend - take a look at some of his work here.

Patagonia

For those who don't keep an eye on all things Adventure Racing, a couple of this years Open Adventure's planners were off exploring Patagonia taking on some of the worlds best in an epic Adventure race. They won! Well done to Andy Wilson (Open24 Planner), Bruce Duncan (adidas TERREX planner), Mark Humphrey and Nicola McLeod. More details on SleepMonsters and their Facebook page.
