Sun Seekers
OK so not every race we run is blessed with Sun, but you won't be going far wrong exploring our events this summer.. riding your bike and taking in the sights on foot beats washing the car.

New Balance Open12
Adventure Race
The location for the New Balance Open12 is now online - you can find more details here. Its a MTB gem of Coed Lllandegla, somewhere between Wrexham and Ruthin.
All because this is a MTB magnet don't assume this will favour those at home on two wheels. With Tim Higginbottom (bit handy at Mountain Marathons) at the helm you can be sure those preferring two feet will be just as comfortable on this event.
What you can be assured of is a fun packed 12 hours - we are pretty sure we will see you at the finish line with a smile or two.
Open12 | 27/28th June - Out West www.openadventure.com/open12
Entries are still open for the Open12 - they will close this Friday (19th June).
New Balance Open24
Adventure Race
Woops a daisy.. Those who keep an eye on the event prices will know we pop the prices of the 12 and 24 up 45 days before the event. For the Open24 that was the middle of last week and we forgot to change them. So to give you a chance to still get an entry at the 'normal' price we will change them at midnight tomorrow night (Tuesday).
We have been pretty busy getting this event together and I think all involved have left the area slightly breathless as to what an amazing area this is. Just to tempt you.. Andy (our technical advisor) and I (James) went exploring a few locations for special stages not so long ago. This picture of Andy was taken somewhere on the event. The first person who wings me an email with a 8 figure grid reference of its location will win a £50 Anquet map token. We are pretty confident our £50 token is safe at least till the Open24. Coast to Coast
There are not many events in the UK adventure racing calender that attract the winners of the Landrover G4 Challenge, British Adventure Racing Champions, Trailquest national champion, winners of the Patagonia Adventure Race, Endurance Series winners as well as some of the UK's best orienteers, mountain bikers and accomplished Adventure racers.
Sounds like the race to be at.. but you know what really gets us excited is this race will not only fuel the thirst of the racing whippets but it opens up the realm of multi day racing to the majority of Open5 competitors with the team relay category - the big gap is the paddling but with 2 1/2 months to go and with the right commitment** its well within your reach.
28-31st August | Coast to Coast Adventure Race - www.openadventure.com/c2c
The route book can now be found online. Also note an option for teams that some are adopting is to use your third person for support - we don't recommend it but its quite possible to do the race like this if you can't find a willing volunteer.
** right commitment - by that we mean two of your team of three need to get in a boat and feel very comfortable in it, like when you jump on a bike and you don't have to think about which lever to push to change a gear. You also need your UKCC 2 star. Chat to Windermere Canoe and Kayak.
Dates Open5 Series
Yep it will be back again this autumn - we are working on the locations at the mo.. website will be updated in the coming months, expect a whistle stop tour of the best running and MTBing this country has to offer.
1st Sunday in November, December, February, March and finally April which is +1 as the first Sunday is Easter Sunday so we are running the Open5 on Easter Monday.

And Finally
We want to hear your stories. We like other racers love to hear about your adventures on our events. So if you fancy writing a report for sleepmonsters, or have a blog with a mini report we can link on our facebook site - wing us an email. Its worth shouting about.
No worries
