On your marks
The first event of the 2008 endurance series is on our doorstep with the Open5 on the 18th May in the Lake District - one or two surprises will either result in a smile or cussing. Check the website for updates. www.openadventure.com/open5

Online entries for the next Open5 event close next Thursday, but you can still enter on the day for an extra £7. Likewise discount series entries will also close on Thursday.

The Peak District certainly is a spectacular place - but boy its hard work organising events here. Lots in store with much more still coming together.
Remember next Thursday prices for the Open12 will increase - so if you are thinking about entering you need to think quick if you want to save a £ or 2.

We will save news about the Open24 until June but suffice to say "The trousers are full". www.openadventure.com/open24
Windermere Canoe and Kayak had a course for budding paddlers in the Open24 in April - WCK are putting on another 2 courses before the event. 7/8th June and 12/13th July. So if you are interested in getting your 2 star give Matt a call on 015394 44451.

Wild Swimming
After our last book review on the Ultra Marathon Man a number of you emailed a word of thanks and thought it was a great addition to the newsletter.
This book is a little off base but a great one for the coffee table and one to help planning those adventurous trips around this great country. Wild Swimming tells of little gems, which often only locals know about of waterfall pools and gorges to play in, with amazing pictures as well.
Wild swimming also have a modern website which gives you a peak in to the book [click here] - so if you want to see what's in the Thurlow house and what nougats of information we are gleaning for races best buy a copy from Amazon here.
Enjoy the sunshine
Hope to see you at Broughton.
No worries
James Thurlow
