Pencils at the ready?
18th May should be in your diary as its the date of the next Mountain Hardwear Open5 at Broughton in the Lake District. Its the first event of the 2008 endurance series and a great way to see the start of the summer. www.openadventure.com/open5

If you have competed with Open Adventure a username and password should have been emailed to you before Christmas. If not wing us an email.
Open5 League
As part of the results import you can now see who tops out on the new Open5 league of competitors. In a cheeky copy of the old ACE races league competitors who reach 5,000 and 10,000 points will be recognised at the following event.

Endurance Series
Almost every week we are asked if there are still places on the Open12 or Open24. So in summary yes there are. So far each event is around 50% full.
What is limited is the number of Necky sea kayaks available for the Open24 - only 4 left as we type (plenty of sit-on-tops still available).
Good news for some competitors; we have decided to relax the rules on the infamous trouser fillers - so if only one competitor of a pair fancy's our special stages you will score half the points for that control.

Training
A new tab has been added to the website promoting others that Open Adventure work with in regards to training adventure racers. We will be featuring each of the providers in future newsletters later this year. In the meantime Windermere Canoe and Kayak have a 2 star UKCC course on the 28/29 April with a few spaces left. www.openadventure.com/training.htm

Enjoy the sunshine
Expect to hear from us in May with more news of the endurance series.
No worries
