Well Hello!

Just a little newsletter today, to wet your whistle.

The Hamsterley Forest event is just 14 days away, plenty of time to get those online entries in.  Hamsterley Forest is certainly causing a stir in the MTB world with its plans to be the MTB haven of the North East, check out the local riding clubs website Hamsterley Trailblazers [click here].  It also provides the residence for the Durham Fell Runners [click here] regular training runs on Thursday nights so may give you a tip as to why this place had to be on the calendar this year.

More details about future open5 events can be found here.

March 12th North Pennines - Hamsterley Forest
May 14th  South Lakes - Broughton in Furness

Questions on pre-printing controls (the points to be visited at an event) on maps created some debate with regulars to the Sleepmonsters forum.  You can check the debate out on the Open Adventure Sleepmonsters forum here

July 29/30th :: Yorkshire Dales

You know I somehow have managed to fill this slot each month with saying not much at all, at some point I will start spilling the beans so don’t worry. More details about the event, kit needed, expected distances will appear sometime in April on the website.

Details on the Open24 event can be found here

Marketing

Shouting about Open Adventure has never been much of a problem for me, other than I often shout at the converted.  Time is also precious so at Open Adventure we have pulled in some help in the form of Lindsay Tench, anyone who know her will vouch for her enthusiasm for Adventure Racing.  As a regular Open5 competitor she certainly knows what we are about and has some great ideas for putting the word out about Open Adventure in the future – expect to hear some more from Lindsay one day very soon.

And finally

Hope you have a great week.

No worries
