C2C - Event Detail

In the coming months we will update the event details, but for the moment this will give you a better idea of the event.

Timing it is intended that the event will start around midday on Friday 28th August, with registration and a short event briefing, you should plan to be in St Bees around 10.00am.

The Monday will also be a short day with the majority of competitors finishing around mid afternoon. We do sincerely hope the faster competitors will enjoy a beer with us to cheer in those that take a more sedentary approach to the event.

The route.. well if you are going to travel across the country might as well do it in style! Read on to find out more.

First of all we will provide maps for you at registration - these will be A3 paper maps with A3 bags. Solos will get two sets and teams will get three sets. In that way your support team can also have an idea on what is going on and where to find you.

A copy of the route book can be found by clicking on the links at the top of this page. Its a big file so best bag a brew if you are on dial up.

Also on the links list is a Anquet way point file of the route - you will need Anquet mapping to view this but with just £29 you can buy all of the mapping for Northern England in 1:50000 OS maps. If you do go this way I'd also recommend getting the OS Road map for the whole country which is £9.95. Find out more here

Right to the business. First of all - not everything is finalised, permissions for much of the event have still to be rubber stamped. Likewise for some areas we have permission for access for this event only. Please if you are going to recce the route take this in to account - it only needs one person and an altercation with a farmer to put this in to jeopardy.

Mascots in 2008 we had a little dry run of this event with some friends, it was a great weekend and I'm sure you will see many of them at the 2009 event. As there was no formal timing / route tracking we asked these guinea pigs to take a mascot and to take photos at notable places.

It was a bit of fun which we did not intend to take over in to the formal event - however these guys were adamant that mascots should reappear in the real event in 2009.

Anyway you get the point you need to find one before the event and list it on your entry. Ideally not using one already taken on the entry list.

Any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
